| You can't distinguish these mittens from those made on needles! Each mitten is knit as one piece including the fitted thumb, and the tapered fingertip end has a smooth flat seam on the inside. Five sizes are included from XS (youth/ladies) to XL (men's). These sample mittens were knit on the Knifty Knitter round looms.
The size XS mitten measures 3-1/4" across the knuckles, and 6-1/2" from the bend of the wrist to the tip of the middle finger. This pattern is designed for Patons Rumor yarn; using other yarns will affect the finished size of the mittens.
Knitting these mittens with worsted weight yarn instead of the bulky yarn with which the pattern was designed will make a smaller mitten that will fit children. I have seen the mittens knit with ww yarn made by a friend, but I haven't yet played with measurements to give accurate sizing recommendations.
This pattern assumes you have experience knitting in the round and knitting flat pieces using single rake looms, and knitting the stockinette (flat knit) stitch. Instructions are included for the crochet cast on, flat bind off, and increasing stitches and transferring the knit piece to a larger loom (for largest sizes).
